Evaluation of Microleakage at the Junction Between Combined Amalgam/Composite Resin Restorations Using Different Bonding Systems in Class II Cavities

چکیده

Objective: To evaluate the microleakage at junction between amalgam-composite resin restorations using different bonding systems. Material and Methods: In this in-vitro study, standard class II cavities were prepared on 40 human maxillary premolars. The axial gingival floor depths of 2 mm 1 below (cementoenamel junction), respectively. samples divided into 4 groups (n = 10). all groups, a layer 1-mm thick amalgam was used as coating for initial part floor. group 1, no system restoration. 2, G-Premio Bond applied. bond + alloy primer single in 3 4, rest then repaired FiltekZ250 composite. thermocycled 500 rpm immersed 1% methylene blue solution 24 hours to allow dye penetration. Once cut, placed under stereomicroscope (40X) determine rate. Data analysis carried out post-hoc Chi-square tests (p<0.05). Results: highest lowest rate related 3, There significant difference (1,2) (1,3), (1,4), (2,3) Conclusion: use could reduce two restorations.

Microleakage Evaluation of Class II Composite Resin Restorations with Different Thicknesses of Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer

Background and Aim: One of the weaknesses of Class II composite resin restorations is gingival microleakage which contributes to postoperative sensitivity and secondary caries. The aim was to evaluate the microleakage in Class II composite resin restorations with different thicknesses of resin-modified glass ionomer (RMGI). Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro study, standardized Class II s...

Microleakage in combined amalgam/composite resin restorations in MOD cavities

Aim: To compare marginal seal at tooth-material and material-material interfaces in the proximal box in combined amalgam/composite resin restorations. Methods: Mesio-occlusal-distal (MOD) cavities were prepared in 35 premolars and permanent molars with carbide bur. The distal proximal box was restored with amalgam (Permite, SDI) until reaching the height of pulpal floor. Dental tissues were etc...

Effect of different gingival margin restorations of class II cavities on microleakage: an in-vitro study

INTRODUCTION Microleakage is one of the important contributing factors in the failure of resin restorations. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the location of the gingival margin (enamel, dentin, or cementum) on nanohybrid composite resin on the microleakage of Class II posterior restoration. METHODS This was an in vitro study done at Al-Farabi College of Dentistry and Nurs...

Microleakage in Class V Cavities Restored with Sandwich Technique: Self-Etch versus Total-Etch Bonding Systems

Objective: Microleakage has always been a problem in restorative dentistry. To decrease microleakage, modern bonding systems, different application methods and sandwich technique have been recommended. The purpose of this study was to assess the microleakage in class V cavities restored with open sandwich technique using self-etch and total-etch bonding systems.   Methods: In this in vitro st...
